Ed Day joined Brookvine as a Senior Consultant in November 2007. For three years prior to this, Ed was Public Policy Manager at the Australian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (AVCAL) whose membership includes almost all the domestic, regional and international private equity and venture capital funds active in Australia. At AVCAL, Ed was responsible for the development of AVCAL’s public policy, as well as leading the association’s research and education initiatives. He was also actively involved in advocacy on behalf of the private equity industry. In 2007, he wrote AVCAL’s submission to the Inquiry into Private Equity which was conducted by the Senate Economics Committee of the Australian Parliament.

Prior to AVCAL, Ed worked as COO of a high-tech start-up company in the United States and General Manager of a marketing services start-up. Ed’s business and professional career also includes 5 years with Ernst & Young and 5 years as a commercial/litigation lawyer.

Ed graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce (with merit) in accounting and finance and from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Law Society of New South Wales and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
