Robert Estcourt
Robert Estcourt joined Brookvine in 2003, as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director. Robert is involved in all aspects of the operation of Brookvine, and brings broad investment and operational experience to the firm.
Prior to Brookvine, Robert’s career spanned 18 years at AMP, Australia’s largest institutional investor. Robert was appointed to a number of executive roles at AMP, including Director of AMP Asset Management (Australia), in which he contributed to the strong improvement in investment performance in the years 1992-98. As Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at AMP, Robert successfully completed the sales of many of AMP’s international operations at the time of AMP’s demerger. He managed the GIO merger and subsequent run-off of that company’s reinsurance portfolio; one of the largest run-off portfolios in the world at that time.
Robert has also held the position of CEO, Retail Cube Group, a listed specialist retail company.
In addition to his role at Brookvine, Robert is Chairman of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and maintains several senior advisory roles in the financial services industry and the Not For Profit sector.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Arts in Finance from the University of Exeter.
